MLM Success in 2010

MLM Success in 2010? Since 2010 is shaping up to be my best year ever, I want to speak with you about how it can be the same for you.

We had a fantastic training call last night with Erica Combs, the author of “Women In Power – A Woman’s Guide to Free Enterprise”.

One of the things she presented was that, regardless of what our level of success was in 2009, we need to stop and give ourselves some credit for what we did achieve in 2009.

We need to be truly objective and look at the positive progress we made. You may not be where you want to be in your life yet.

Personally, I hit rock bottom financially and emotionally in 2009. This gave me the courage and the motivation to move forward and move far out of my comfort zone.

I discussed in my newsletter yesterday a concept from the Brian Tracy training – “Double Your Brain Power”. This concept is very relevant as unemployment continues to grow and we move into another year.

Pretty simply, it is that for the majority of people who moved from difficulty into becoming millionaires and billionaires, it happened by doing things that they had never considered before and that were far outside their comfort zone.

This is certainly how my life is playing out.

These amazing successes oftentimes occurred immediately following their greatest failures.

MLM success in 2010 is achievable no matter your background or experience. If you have discovered that you are not the master of your own destiny today…

it’s time to make a stand and take command of your present. Today’s results are a manifestation of yesterday’s beliefs. If you are unhappy with today’s results it is time to change your beliefs for the better.

A favorite quote of mine is – “Many of life’s failures are men who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”

Another relevant concept to this discussion from Brian Tracy – “Double Your Brain Power”, is that we must change our terminology. Think about how your perception of the same event changes by just changing the words used.

For instance,

  • Problem or obstacle is negative in nature
  • Issue or situation is neutral in nature
  • Challenge is positive in nature
  • Opportunity is even more positive

These words can all be used to describe the same occurrence in our life, yet they cause us to think of, feel about, and respond to the same occurrences in very different ways.

For these millionaires who made the dramatic change from utter failure to phenomenal success, one of the absolute keys was how they allowed their subconscious to perceive occurrences in their journey.

When you perceive the issue as negative and verbalize it that way, you cut yourself off from your subconscious ability to effectively problem solve.

Every perceived obstacle on your path is there to teach you a lesson, or let you know you have moved off the ideal path for your success. We must see these instances as opportunities to tap into the immense power of our subconscious and be in tune with laws like the Law of Attraction.

In order to have massive MLM success in 2010, or in whatever your chosen endeavor, let’s first look objectively at our progress in 2009. Give yourself credit for the positive changes you’ve made.

Be honest about where you are in life, and whether you are moving in the direction of your dreams each and every day.

Change your self-talk and terminology, then move forward into the new year with optimism and the belief that everything you encounter is an opportunity to grow and to have your greatest success ever.

Be willing to let go of limiting beliefs and emotions that no longer serve you. Create for yourself new beliefs that empower you to move toward your wildest dreams.

Have your best year ever, achieving massive MLM success, or success in whatever is the right path for you!

To your unbounded success and happiness in 2010,

~ Scott

MLM downline building is really where it all starts for you, but a lot of people don’t understand the basics of the process. They get stuck in the first phase of this process and never move forward.

We discussed this process in our team training last night. Out of the entire two hours, this really jumped out as very important to me.

When you have never completed and moved beyond the first phase of this process, you will find yourself a member of the 97%, those who never get into profit with MLM.

It’s important that you not skip past any of these phases as they should be sequential. Each phase naturally leads into the next, and there are clear indicators that let you know when you are ready to move forward.

Two things are very important. One is that you do not skip the first phase. The second is that you move through this first phase as quickly as possible.

Almost everyone who is not making money in this industry is in one of two situations. Some have been stuck in this phase way too long, often for their entire network marketing career. Others, with the advent of internet MLM, have skipped it entirely.

Neither situation is ideal if you want massive MLM success, and you want to grow your team very rapidly.

That is what you want, right?

MLM Downline Building: Phase 1

  • MLM prospecting – includes warm market (making a list), business networking and referral strategies
  • Should take no more than 3 days to 2 weeks
  • This phase is where most of your initial growth occurs
  • Does not mean pressuring & chasing people. It just means connecting with people you already have relationships with, in a very relaxed way, and showing them the opportunity.
  • Just one of these people may connect you to an incredible team member in the initial stages of your business.
  • You need to move through your list quickly without pressuring people. When you have gone through these contacts, you are ready for phase 2.

Phase 2: Direct Response Marketing

  • This is where marketing strategy, marketing plan and marketing skills are keys.
  • 99% of your income, once you have moved through phase one and have started to grow your business, comes from people you don’t know.
  • Includes all methods of marketing, advertising, and lead generation whether offline or with internet MLM.
  • You still must connect with them personally once you have their information.
  • The internet and other marketing venues are not magic bullets. They automate much of the process, so you can focus more time and energy on what makes you money (connecting and building relationships).

Phase 3: Attraction Marketing

  • This occurs when you have developed the ability to generate more lead flow than you have time to contact (through phase 2 strategies).
  • What happens here is that the people who are really serious and capable of making decisions without your help will start calling you asking to join.
  • MLM recruiting becomes effortless, with your MLM downline building itself, because you do not have to persuade these people to join.

Phase 4: Mentor

  • This is the phase most people dream of.
  • This phase occurs when there is no need for you to ever recruit anyone personally again.
  • You must have a well-designed attraction marketing system for this to work.
  • This only occurs when you have enough leadership and success on your team.
  • When continued MLM recruiting makes you unable to effectively support & train your already successful team, and you have at least a few people in your MLM downline who are making more money than they have ever made, you are in phase 4.

I just want to point out quickly that while we promote attraction marketing, marketing systems & time-saving tools, they are only part of the picture.

Because many of you who are not having results and profit are stuck in phase 1 and are trying to build their MLM business off of this phase and cold market exclusively, getting leverage and getting out of phase 1 is one of the main keys to you breaking through to MLM success.

The other main point here is that many of you who have started with internet MLM try to skip phases 1 and 2. You will not have success quickly, and maybe not at all in phases 3 and 4, unless you have made the most of your personal contacts and mastered marketing effectively.

Your MLM success will be a much greater likelihood if you move through this process in order, mastering each step to MLM downline building thoroughly.

To your unbounded success and happiness,

~ Scott

MLM Recruiting Success & MLM Prospecting

MLM recruiting success is necessary if you want to earn the big bucks in the MLM business. Not only is it necessary, but if you focus mainly on retailing product you have a J-O-B, you are not an entrepreneur.

One key point I would mention is that a company that calls itself MLM or network marketing, who pays you for recruiting but markets no legitimate products or services is not MLM, it is a pyramid scheme.

To make big bucks and attain freedom, you must recruit and you must recruit others who do the same. There are some people out there with MBA’s and Phd’s who just don’t get it. They speak of MLM recruiting as if it’s the kiss of death and the most immoral thing in the world, when recruiting is the lifeblood of our business.

There is absolutely no way you are going to find the 1 person out of 100 who is qualified to be in this business, without filtering through the other 99. That’s called MLM prospecting. This process is given a bad name, because of people who are not yet having network marketing success trying to recruit anything with a pulse.

The true professionals in this business know that 5 out of the 100 people who are prospects, on average, will join. Of those 5, we know that maybe one will actually be a producer. That does not frighten us. If that does frighten you, you should not be in this business. You should get over that or be at a J-O-B.

The better you become at MLM prospecting, the more people you will find out of that 100 that have potential. You will be attracting a higher quality of person and you will be better at quickly sorting out the ones who are just not suited to being an entrepreneur in the MLM home business arena.

What happens is that newbies have not yet learned how to create more leads than they have time in their day, and because of this they have not had the experience of learning how to effectively sort the leads they do receive.

MLM recruiting, in this situation becomes “prospect stalking” or “begging”. The would be entrepreneur is in a situation where they are lead poor, or lead starved. They will recruit anyone, and many times those recruits should have never been anything other than a retail customer.

Now I am not putting those new entrepreneurs down. It’s part of the process and we have all been there. I could not generate steady leads to save my life when I first started my MLM home business. I didn’t however, go out and beg unqualified people into the business, I focused on increasing my value while improving my habits and my skill set. It’s just that people who are starved for success, and have not yet taken all the steps to receive it, are weak in the area of experience.

As a result, they get desperate, and try to sign up anyone that they haven’t already run out of their life.

What really irritates me is that some of these Phd’s and attorneys are bad-mouthing an industry that takes exceptional people, brings them together, and makes these people even better. Lives are absolutely transformed.

For anything else that requires exceptional qualities, habits and commitment, high percentages of failure are accepted. For riding a unicycle, becoming a ballet dancer, being a top producing sales professional, an opera singer, a professional athlete, and many others, it’s accepted that most people fail. For some reason in the MLM industry, where being exceptional is rewarded more handsomely than in any other industry, it’s somehow a sin that most people fail.

I’ve got news for you. Get over it! Life isn’t fair. People who are willing to take responsibility for themselves, their success and their lives are welcome in this industry and can unequivocally transform themselves and their lives.

An average pro athlete has a four year career and achieves a $1 Million per year income. Exceptional athletes do far better. I don’t know the exact numbers, but out of every kid who aspires to be an exceptional pro athlete, very few ever even become an average pro athlete, or even a college athlete. Many NFL players are nearly crippled, and live a life of pain and medical bills as a result of their 4-8 year career.

Compare that to being an exceptional network marketer or direct sales person. Many achieve far greater income than $1 Million per year and are able to work well into their 60′ And 70’s.

And yet… I don’t hear the same educated people bad mouthing achieving excellence in professional sports as a pipe dream and not worth striving for!

MLM recruiting success starts with being excellent at MLM prospecting.

Remember that you are looking to -

  • Establish whether the contact is open to connecting or collaborating
  • If they are, be warm and quickly build rapport
  • Qualify them for your business
  • Sell the dream, by creating an emotional connection. (Don’t tell and sell, get them to consider how their ideal life and success will feel).

These are all done by being a master of asking questions effectively. The whole point of MLM prospecting is to qualify people for your time. To do this, you don’t try to sign up every one you talk with.

You actually use prospecting (and/or methods of internet MLM lead generation) to sort people. You want to eliminate as many prospects as possible to get to the cream of the crop. Then your MLM recruiting begins.

If you become very good at sorting (or MLM prospecting), you will have great MLM recruiting success and you will spend far less time recruiting, while producing far more results. You must sort through a lot of people to find those who are right for your team, and who will make you both wealthy.

If you are a self-starter, self-motivated and absolutely understand & believe that you deserve to receive it all, there is no better place for you to be in 2010 than in the network marketing industry, with the right company and team.

To your unbounded success & happiness,

~ Scott

Can internet MLM success be yours? A lot of people who are struggling in the MLM business are asking the questions of me and others on this mastermind team. How did you break through? When it happened, what was the catalyst? Can you show me how?

I’ll answer these questions in order for you. First of all, with a decision and commitment, MLM success can be yours.

How did I break through?

Internet MLM success is not impossible, but it’s also not what many think either. I know people currently making very little that have “broken through”, and some averaging $30,000 per month or more that have done so. It’s not so much the money, although producing income results follows quickly once you have broken through. It’s a change in mindset.

What many people don’t realize is that the results come once most of us have gone through a pretty painful process. We see what people are doing when they become a results producer, but there is no spotlight on them when they are going through the painful part of the process. For this reason, it’s easy to feel all alone when you are transforming & breaking through.

One thing in common between my top producing mentors & myself is that there was a point that was absolute. Many of us who have gone through this have a hard time pinpointing that instance when asked this question. It’s because the point when we decided is overshadowed by the years long process preceding, as well as the network marketing success following. For everyone of them, myself included, there was a long time of transformation & learning the skill set.

One day two things happen, generally at almost the same time. For one, we realize that we have great value to our industry & are well on our way to having many of the necessary skills. At the same time we also are reaching rock bottom with some aspect of our lives, whether emotionally, financially or even both.

We realize we are psychologically unemployable and that being a successful entrepreneur is the only option to us. We decide, and then begin inching closer to that goal each and every day. We decide to turn a hobby into a business, our vocation into a vacation, and become one with the process.

We are so focused on success that nothing will take us off that path. People notice this oneness of purpose, this focus, this relaxed intensity…and then actually become attracted to us.

I had come to a really difficult place in my life, after years & years of struggle. I was absolutely at my wits end. I thought my family was about to be on the streets & already had a couple of family members who were. It was extremely painful for me to be close to that point myself & not be able to help them.

I literally broke down & decided no matter what it took, I was going to make it. My business and goals became absolutes to me.

When it happened, what was the catalyst?

I would honestly say that it was a combination of the circumstances I mentioned above, and the fact that I went out and found others who had gone through the experience and were where I wanted to be. I aligned myself with them and became a sponge. The founder of my system mentioned a word the other night that I use as well.

It sounds crazy, but I began brainwashing myself. You’ve heard the term “garbage in, garbage out”. It applies to what you eat, and what you put into your mind. I let go of old ways of feeling & thinking. I began consuming everything I could find relative to what I wanted to achieve.

Whether reading books, watching trainings, listening to speakers or listening to my audio CD’s I was constantly consuming, and brainwashing myself with, the best expertise & teaching I could find, from those who had been there.

I began to feel like a millionaire, and knew I would be.

Can you show me how?

This is the easiest question for me to answer. I absolutely, unequivocally can. The most important thing for you to realize is that it starts inside of you.

There is value everywhere if you are willing to find it. There is no magic bullet, and I can’t sell it to you. Mike Dillard says that even if he got one thing of value from something he spent hundreds or thousands on, it was worth it. I agree 100%. If we’re going to buy these trainings, systems, tools and resources, we have to actually own something out of them, or they are a waste.

Having massive internet MLM success is not about magic bullets, systems, tools or other external things, though these can greatly increase your leverage. It’s really all about mindset & million dollar habits, just as exceptional network marketing success has always been.

Internet MLM success starts with you deciding. Then you must reach out and collaborate with people you feel can help you, people that you resonate with.

If that’s not me, that’s acceptable. You need to work with whoever is right for you.  Just find someone that you resonate with and get started at achieving your MLM success now.

To your unbounded success & happiness,

~ Scott

MLM Prospecting & Network Marketing Success

MLM prospecting & network marketing success have become extremely hot topics on the search engines recently. With economies reeling, and unemployment rates hitting 10 % or better in the USA & the European Union, many people are looking for anwers and a better way to make money and achieve their dreams.

Network marketing is nothing new, but many network marketing millionaires are created during recessions. The industry began back in 1940, when California Vitamins began. Eventually, California Vitamins evolved into NutriLife. Jay Van Andel and Rich DeVos, who had worked there as reps, left & founded the Amway Corporation in 1959.

Network marketing success is elusive for many, but the attraction to get into the industry is especially strong during recessions. Because people can join regardless of sex, education, status, background or race it is truly an opportunity for anyone. The fact that many people are able to earn 4 to 5 figure monthly incomes their first year really makes an MLM business attractive.

MLM  and network marketing are two terms for the same industry. MLM stands for multilevel marketing. What this means is that you have a sponsor or rep who recruits you. They are your up line. You also recruit others, becoming their up line.  Each person who starts becomes a leader of all the people who join beneath them or beneath one of the people they sponsor. Different companies pay out various amounts to you on the production of the reps (your down line) in the levels below you. The amounts and comp plans vary from company to company.

The attraction of this is that the more people you or your down line enroll the more leverage you gain. In other words, you make a percentage of the profits from the production of people in your down line. This creates residual income for you. If you choose the right company and build a strong team, this residual income can continue long after you stop working.

I won’t presume to tell you to join a company, though network marketing success is dramatically transforming my life for the better. The final choice is yours. What I want to do is help the many people who are struggling & making this important decision, by giving you some great information. Much of what we read on the internet is not completely accurate, whether due to inexperience or lack of integrity.

Generally you use the products of the MLM business you join, while training and recruiting others to also recruit and retail product. Some of the products include vitamins, legal plans & assistance, nutritional juices, skin care and cosmetics, daily use household items, educational content & many more.

MLM prospecting is one of the keys to network marketing success, perhaps the most important. You only make money from two activities, recruiting and retailing product. The leverage and residual income, however, comes from recruiting the right team members. MLM prospecting is the process of getting qualified leads. This can be done by talking to people face-to-face, advertising and then speaking with them, & generating from internet MLM techniques. There are unlimited ways to prospect, but it boils down to the skill set of finding the prospects & then knowing how to ask questions that get people to take action.

We had a phenomenal training call with two of my favorite mentors last night. One of the most important things we discussed was how many people think they can get on the internet and hide behind their computer and still achieve great network marketing success. This is the furthest thing from the truth. Internet MLM is phenomenal for creating leverage, because it allows you to show hundreds or even thousands of presentations to people globally, in the same amount of time it would take to speak with one prospect face-to-face. You can use this leverage to prospect, as well as to train your new reps.

MLM prospecting & MLM closing skills are still essential and they are two of the most important areas of your training. Having the right mind set, the right habits, and knowing how to ask questions are the surest ways to success in the MLM business. Adding the leverage of internet MLM to that skill set can absoultely explode your lead flow and income, in a short period of time.

What is really important is that to utilize the above skills, you must be able to effectively generate more leads than you have time in your day. This is where methods of free lead generation online become very valuable. One of most powerful methods and a method that complements all other methods of generating leads on the internet is proper use of keywords and SEO, or search engine optimization.

The subject is too in depth to give you accurate and detailed information in this short article, but I’ll give you some of the basics. One of the simple and free ways to do this is to look at the Google Adwords: Keyword Tool. You input your keyword, like say “MLM business”.

Google will give you a list of relevant words. Look at the global monthly search volume to see if the term is worth using. Try to find words relevant to your business or product. If something is 300 searches per month, this is only 10 per day worldwide. It’s not worth your time. Chances are if it’s really high, like 100,000, it will be too competitive.

Then you want to just input the term you like, maybe something with 1,000 to 5,000 global monthly searches, into google’s search to check competition. A general rule is that terms which have less than 300,000 to 400,000 results or pages showing the term are easier to rank for with your new website or article. This is no guarantee, however.

What is really important is the authority and back links the top competing pages have. If there are 10 companies on the first page with thousands of back links and strong authority with Google, you will find it hard to rank regardless of how many results there are.

In this situation, your best bet is to use sites that already have authority to rank your keywords. Posting articles on Ezines, the top article directory, Youtube videos (the number four site on the web and also owned by Google) or hub pages are the best ways to rank on the first page with competitive terms. If you do not make the first 5-7 results on the first page, the organic search traffic you receive will be very limited.

MLM prospecting and network marketing success is very achievable if you master the leverage available on the internet through free methods of leads generation like keyword research, SEO and creating content.

MLM prospecting offline is dead? That’s what a lot of internet gurus are saying. If you are surfing the internet looking for information on internet MLM or your MLM business in general, you have probably run across this hype – ” Old school methods don’t work, buy my stuff, blah, blah, blah.”

I must admit, I looked at my capture page & even I somewhat allude to that “fact”. Actually, it’s not a fact. In my current video for website I actually talk about that a little, indicating to my visitors that’s not true, because that whole mis-truth kind of irritates me. However,  negative headlines sell & negative stuff on your page converts.

It seems to me that you are actually attracting the wrong kind of person into your MLM business when you advertise on your lead page in this way. This half-truth actually feeds the problem of people not taking responsibility for their results in their own business. If you tell people “hey it’s not your fault”, those methods don’t work you may be taking their focus away from their real problem…

Which is…them, their mind set & their skill set.

MLM Prospecting doesn’t work?

Here are the three instances in which offline works & works really well.

  • You are a leader with a wide sphere of influence. If you are an influential enough leader, you can actually grow a team offline way faster than someone new to internet MLM & faster than most experienced online network marketers
  • You are a magnetic personality who connects with anyone they meet face-to-face instantly. In fact, this person may not find it as easy to connect this way online when just starting out.
  • You have developed the skill set necessary to connect with people face-to-face, build relationships & ask powerful questions that elicit the right kinds of answers.

Notice the last one I mentioned puts success at offline MLM prospecting in the realm of the possible for almost anyone with the the commitment & desire.

There are two caveats I would mention. First, if this is completely alien to your personality type and you have problems with connecting face-to-face, in other words this kind of social contact makes you anxious & stressed, you may not want to focus on offline MLM prospecting at first.

You can learn the skill set required, but you might want to start with internet MLM, make some money & build that skill set for offline success over time. For example, I have a friend who has made about $85,000 in the last four months who fits this category. He had a painful struggle with offline MLM for years before getting on the internet this year & achieving massive success.

The other caveat I would mention is that you will never have the kind of leverage or reach you can get doing MLM prospecting using internet MLM, with offline methods only. I can put up a lead page with a video that can be seen by thousands of people globally, simultaneously, in the same amount of time it takes you to speak with one person offline.

For this reason, even though I am an artistic, friendly person who thrives face-to-face & on the phone, I decided to start my MLM business online first. I wanted to take advantage of that leverage & build quickly before spending time with MLM prospecting offline.

Hopefully this helps to break down that misconception & half-truth somewhat. MLM prospecting offline still works just as well s it ever did, if you have the natural ability, or have taken the time to develop the right skill set.

To your unbounded success & happiness,

~ Scott

Are you networking social websites? Are you getting tons of leads & great connections in your MLM business from your networking social website? Let’s get into the 7 Deadly Sins you need to avoid, if you are not getting the results you are seeking with social networking. If these sins are things you are doing, realize this is not an accusation, it’s to help you get results. Realize that 97% of network marketers are making on average $10 per week.

This means, and I have this on authority from someone who has been one of the top producers in my marketing system since he started, that you need to NOT be doing what the other 97% ARE doing…if you want to get great results.

If this is you, hopefully you are at least spending more than that per week on your personal development. If you are doing so & are really serious about results & change, you are spending more than you are earning.

In any area of business, the people who achieve amazing success & get massive results from their efforts are those who are continually investing time, energy & money into their personal development & ongoing education.

I know that many of you are struggling, whether because of the economic downturn, lack of results in your MLM business or both. Regardless of what your situation is, please take advantage of the free content I & others are releasing. This is specifically how I got my start. I did not have a lot of resources when I got started. I found some bloggers & entepreneurs in the MLM industry who resonated with me, & who also were quickly improving their traffic rank.

My thought was that they must know something… and I was right. My point is that these are the 3%. We have to be doing what they are doing, not what the 97% are doing.

Networking Social Websites – The 7 Deadly Sins

I. Asking people to add you as a friend without sending them a message.

  • Your job description as a network marketer is “Professional Relationship Builder”. This is offline or with internet MLM.
  • Even if you are building online, you still need to make a positive impression from the first contact. People form an impression with you from the first 30-60 seconds of contact.

II. Not using their name.

  • I know this doesn’t sound like a big deal, but it is a fundamental key of communication, whether face-to-face or online.
  • A person’s name is the sweetest sound to them. This a universal concept. Use their name when it fits into the conversation naturally. If you don’t, you are missing the chance to connect on a really personal level.

III. Responding to their accepting of your friend request with an immediate sales message.

  • When responding to someone’s accepting of a friend request, many will immediately respond with an automated sales message.
  • Accepting a friend request is not an invitation to receive a sales message, it is an indication someone is open to contact & collaboration. This is the specific type of person you want to have as a friend, if you want to create business contacts that can be profitable for both of you. Many are turning the person off before even allowing the relationship to blossom.
  • Respond with a thank you & something to show you are a person, not a sales machine.

IV. Assuming that the new friend needs your help & that you are better than them.

  • Your networking social website is not an invitation to give un-asked for advice. I can’t count the number of people who I accept as a friend, and they start trying to bombard me with advice about the MLM business before I even indicate that I need, or am open to, help from them.
  • It’s obvious that these people did not even bother to read my profile or click on any of my sites to see if I am someone who is an expert & trainer, or someone who might need their help.
  • A little clue. Click on a couple of their links & see how their traffic rank is on Alexa. If they are ranking in say the top 300,000 sites on their blog & the top 500,000 to 600,000 on their website & are steadily moving up on both, but you are stuck at 2.5 million, you maybe should be asking for help, not bombarding them with your sales message.

V. Posting links to your sites & sales messages all over other people’s wall.

  • This seems like common sense to me, but this so prevalent. Adding someone as friend is not an invitation to publicly spam them & everyone they are associated with.
  • This gives the impression that you are rude & lack tact.
  • On this note constantly using your status box to post sales links and never using it to offer value to your friends is just as bad. Post things that show others you are a real person.

VI. Posting things to people’s sites that link to you in an underhanded way.

  • The best example I can think of is tagging someone else in a video of you (on Facebook), so that it pops up on their profile when anyone clicks to see a video of them.
  • When someone first did this to me it, really irritated me because I did not know how to remove it from my profile. Commit this sin & see how many just start blocking you & removing you as a friend immediately.

VII. Not following up when someone reaches out to you personally.

  • I have been guilty of this recently, because of so many people adding me & the huge amount of spammy messages I’m wading through. I take responsibility for this because I’ve added too many people too quickly sometimes.
  • If this is happening, slow down speedy! Success is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. You  are trying to build relationships. Quit worrying about numbers & genuinely connect with people. Remember, you are supposed to be building relationships.

Again, this is not meant to be an accusation or condemnation. I have been guilty of a couple of these on occasion. I am as much trying to reinforce the right habits in myself, as I am in you. Make a few changes in your approach to networking social websites & watch your friend list grow while people start to inquire about your MLM business on your favorite networking social website!

To your unbounded success & happiness,

~ Scott

The MLM Business – Is it for real?

Hello, my friend! Can an MLM business really replace a corporate job? A lot of people are asking the question, both online & off. Is MLM for real?  When you start doing the research, some interesting facts are uncovered. Some of you who study & educate yourselves about history & the history of business already are aware that franchising went through a similar painful process of acceptance in the business world.

Traditional business people & their influence with politicians of the day very nearly killed franchising before it ever gained traction as a legitimate business. They refused to understand the business model & did not think it would work. As of 2007, one of the most successful franchises in history, McDonald’s, had over 30,000 restaurants worldwide. The original founders of McDonald’s did not achieve this.

It took a man of vision & incredible leader named Ray Kroc, to see the potential there & go from one restaurant to 30,000, creating one of the most amazing success stories in history. MLM or network marketing is in a similar place today. The direct sales industry has been around for a very long time, and MLM has been around for many, many years as well. It has been long thought by the masses to be the province of scammers and others of little integrity.

Endorsement & Involvement of Top Business Leaders

This has begun to change dramatically over the last few years. Extremely successful investors & business people like Donald Trump, Brian Tracy, Robert Kiyosaki & others have begun to not only endorse & recommend the MLM business, but they also have been creating alliances, starting their own MLM companies & becoming distributors within the industry.

Many people do not realize it, but some of the greatest leaders, speakers & trainers in the areas of personal development & business education have become involved in the industry as of late. Running an MLM home business has been the starting point for many young entrepreneurs today, and for many, the training has been life-changing. Network marketing today is spawning millionaires & leaders.

If the MLM Business is good enough for phenomenal leaders like Brian Tracy, Jay Abraham, Ivan Misner, Bill Bartmann, Don Hutson, Alex Mandossian, John Gray, Steve Seibold, Chet Holmes, Stephen R Covey, Dan Clark, & Tony Alessandra to be getting involved, maybe it’s time professionals like you & I start paying the industry a little more notice. Maybe it’s time to give a little credit where it’s due, & truly consider whether it might be right for us.

Failure contained the seeds of my success…

My journey in network marketing began in earnest when my corporate sales job really took a nosedive. Some of you who have interacted with me already know a little about my story, but it’s really relevant here & might help others undergoing a similarly painful process.

I had been in the same industry for nearly twenty years when I got started with MLM. I’d worked myself all the way through the ranks from unskilled labor up to a sales & management job directly beneath the owner of my company. It was a painful process, very difficult on me & even moreso on my family, once I got married.

Being in a seasonal industry I made huge sacrifices throughout the journey. In the summer, I would work 60-100 hours per week, sometimes for months on end. In the winter, I would often struggle, start small businesses & do whatever side work I could get. I alternatively hated & enjoyed my job. The great thing about it was that I finally began to think more & more like an entrepreneur & look for a way out.

For about 6 years prior to 2009, I dabbled as an entrepreneur. This is probably the main reason I didn’t have any real success before this year. In 2008 & 2009, between some poor decisions by the company I worked for & the economic chaos, things really got rough for my family. I realized that sticking with that seasonal industry, while only dabbling at success & entrepreneur-ism had left my family in a pretty shaky spot. I was also way behind on my dreams.

The MLM Home Business Solution

The MLM Business held my answer. I decided to make a change. After a ton of research & exposure to several companies I decided on a company & team to create my fortune, success & future with. I have never looked back…

If you are a leader, a person of vision, someone who is willing to make decisions & changes when the time is right, it’s time. There has never been a more ideal point in history for you to start an MLM business. The industry is gaining mainstream acceptance in the business world. Some of the greatest leaders, trainers & speakers are already on board. The proliferation & functionality of internet capable devices globally has created a fertile ground for massive, explosive growth in network marketing for savvy entrepreneurs who see the big picture.

If you are a professional in the corporate world who is ready to look at other options, you can easily book an appointment with me to discuss this by clicking the book now-instant button in the top right sidebar on my blog.

Hello,  my friend! Momentum in my organization is really starting to build, so I want to touch on that a bit and keep you all updated. On my previous blog there was a great response to my idea of doing updates on the growth of my team & on my personal growth as an internet marketer.

I did quit posting there, because of some basic mistakes I made on the initial design of that blog. I decided that the best of all worlds was to start from scratch with a new blog and do it right, or at least do it way better.

In our business, whether that is an MLM business or any other type of business, it’s important to remember that activity is not necessarily accomplishment. This goes back to the 80/20 rule (The Pareto Principle) that many of you are already aware of.

About 20% of what we do results in 80% of our results. As an entrepreneur, a network marketer with no real boss looking over your shoulder, this becomes extremely important. This is one of the things I struggled with while getting this business off the ground.

I am capable of a huge amount of work, but yet the results in the beginning of this enterprise were not measuring up to the sheer volume of work & time I was putting in. I was working hard, but not producing. It’s essential to understand what you are doing that is getting results, and what is not.

We must devote 80% of our time to the 20% of activities that get the most results. We have to let go of the things that we do just to keep busy & sometimes make some choices.

For me, with the old blog, I had to look at the time I’d already put into it & the small amount of authority I’d already gained with the search engines versus the time I would have to put in on the new blog and the increased level of effectiveness & how the results would multiply over time.

In retrospect, now, it was a very easy choice. But it did not seem that way at the time. If we operate from the framework of the Pareto Principle (80/20 rule), it really helps us to prioritize and make these kinds of choices.

As things are starting to really gain traction here for me, it’s important to keep you apprised of the hows & the whys to help you along the path in your journey. I have not been tracking the changes as diligently as I’d been on the other blog, but I have noticed some massive changes occurring the last couple of weeks.

My Alexa traffic rank is putting me in the top 2% of sites over the last month, while my blog is hitting consistently in the top 1.5% of sites over the last month. We have been showing strong momentum in the short term as well, with the blog steadily moving up even over the past 7 days. When we go back out to the 3 month average, we see the growth is real & long term as both sites are ranking in the top 2.325% of sites there.

A couple of other quick notes on some of the more noticeable changes in the last two weeks:

  • On the website we’ve gone from 17 inbound links to 55 in the past 12 days
  • On the blog we’ve gone from zero inbound links to 14 in the last 12 days
  • On the blog our Google indexed pages have jumped dramatically
  • On the website our website grade keeps getting better & has gone from an 80% to an 84% effectiveness
  • The blog jumped quite a bit more there & actually surpassed the website hitting at an 85% effectiveness as of today
  • Lead flow is on a steady increase
  • My capture page conversions are improving

I have really begun to stand out as a leader & voice of inspiration to a lot of people, which has been indicated to me by how my social networks are starting to take on a life of their own & by the amount of people reaching out to me requesting help. I’ve set up appointment scheduling to help facilitate this, which you can access by the “instant book now” button near the top of the right sidebar .

As of now, my coaching is still free, but I will have to begin charging very soon just due to increased demand & having less time available. If you have been on the fence, it’s time for you to make a decision.

Whether you join me, or some other great leader, don’t miss the boat. Some amazing fortunes will be made in network marketing over the next few years. We have about 60 years of data on this industry & huge money is always made during recessions. If, like me, after 20 years of sacrifice to your industry, you have found yourself in trouble…it’s time to take the initiative & make the change.

How To Get Leverage From MLM Systems

Part 2 – How To Get Massive Leverage From Effective MLM Marketing Systems (MLM Home Business – How To Get Massive Leverage With Internet MLM series)

Step 1 – Setting up your marketing system

Hello my friend. Today we’re going to get into effective marketing systems & what they should do for you. If you missed the first post in this series, MLM Home Business – How To Get Massive Leverage With Internet MLM, go back & read that here, MLM Home Business, for an overview of the process.

Now let’s get into effective marketing systems & the potential they have to transform your MLM Business.

We discussed in the last post some fundamental aspects a great marketing system should cover. Let’s get a little more into detail on that now.

  • It should brand you, not your company or product which means you need your own hosted domains, websites  & personalized capture pages
  • It should control & manage your MLM leads so that you own them no matter whether you leave the company you are in or not
  • Should provide continuously updated, cutting edge marketing training for you personally, that comes from network marketers who are having success right now.
  • Should provide a way to automate a lot of the training of your team, giving you the potential to grow a huge organization
  • Should automate as much of the process of getting highly qualified MLM leads into your funnel as possible. This will depend somewhat on the marketing methods you use, but it should automate a lot of the process for you.
  • Should provide a means of secondary income to fund your marketing budget & expenses for your MLM home business

Very simply, an effective system should solve these four major issues faced by most MLM business owners today:

The Four Major Issues

  1. Lack of qualified leads
  2. Lack of up-to-the-minute marketing training
  3. Lack of money to invest into your business
  4. Lack of duplication by your team

An effective marketing system should filter out most of the tire kickers, so you are not wasting time with these people. It should monetize those that are not interested in your primary & will never join. It should introduce those who remain in your funnel to your primary MLM business in a natural way.

Putting an effective marketing system into place using internet MLM methods can give you massive leverage of your time & money. It doesn’t even matter if it takes a lot of time to put it together & set it up. Why?

Because once you have one effective capture page, website & video presentation together, it can be seen by hundreds of thousands of people all over the world, off the work you did one time. You can not get this kind of leverage of your time & money invested by presenting offline.

I want to point out a few things. I mentioned this in the first post, but I want to draw attention to this again, because it’s so very important. Once you have set up your marketing system you need to be networking & building relationships. Ideally you should be doing this even before you set up your system.

A great way to do this is to set up a blog before you even start to market online. The other great way to begin doing this is by targeted social networking on sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Direct Matches, Twitter & others.

Professional relationship building will always be the most important activity in your business. Your system should cover this or at least point you in the right direction so you can learn this skill. If you do not yet know how to do this, just grow your list of contacts, but don’t initially talk to them about your business.

Your goal is to build relationships. If you try to sell them before you have built some kind of relationship, most will be immediately turned off.

If you are marketing using internet MLM, your corporate replicated website is not adequate. It is very difficult to get this kind of site to rank high enough to get a lot of organic traffic. You can pay for the traffic, but you need to have a bare minimum of $500-1,000 per month for at least 6 months or so.

A $1,000-2,000 per month budget for 6 months is much more ideal if you plan on starting with Google Pay-per-click. You will not be great at PPC instantly. It takes time to learn this skill & become really effective at it.

Even if you are an internet marketing expert & are able to drive a lot of traffic to this type of site, there is still no way for you to stand out from the other 50,000 people with the same exact site. The reason I recommend getting organic traffic is because it’s FREE.

We already discussed that one of the main issues facing most network marketers is lack of money. If you have a corporate replicated site & plan to buy your traffic, it can be very expensive & could be a main factor in you quitting before you reach and surpass the point of success & profit.

This kind of site also does not have the capacity to brand you as a leader. If you leave the company you’re in, for any reason, you will find out who owns that corporate replicate website very quickly, as they will own your leads & your entire team when you leave.

This is a really poor “solution” to the 4 major issues above, and as many of you are already finding out, it’s no solution at all. All the time, money & effort you put in will be lost. I would hate to see that happen to you.

Next we will talk of what you need to generate a massive traffic flow of people interested in what you have to offer to your sales message.

This will be an overview of the exact process & essentials you need to get massive leverage by taking your MLM home business on the internet. This will be a 6 part series. We will discuss how this benefits you and briefly describe the entire process today. Then I will break down each step into a separate post.

So first of all how does this benefit you as the owner of a MLM business?

If you’re like the majority of people who are involved or getting started with network marketing, you are not yet a powerful, influential leader. If you are not a leader with a wide circle of influence, you will find building offline quite a challenge. (If you are a powerful influential leader, I can plug you into something immediately that will make you very wealthy doing offline methods only).

We are all in the industry (hopefully) to better ourselves & the lives of others, and being at different stages in our journey, we join the MLM industry with different levels of leadership ability. If you are not yet a person of influence & you don’t have thousands of family members, friends & associates, your list will run out quickly.

So what do you do if you’re in this situation & you’re not that magnetic kind of personality that finds sponsoring strangers effortless? Simply, there are two things:

  1. Undertake the training & personal development necessary to become a more influential leader.
  2. Build your MLM business & your network online by using an automated marketing system combined with targeted networking on social media.

So what is the system & process?

First set up a marketing system that-

  • Brands you (your own hosted domains & personalized capture pages)
  • Controls, manages & owns all of your leads
  • Provides cutting edge marketing training for you personally
  • Automates training of your team
  • Automates the process of getting highly qualified MLM leads
  • Funds your marketing budget for your MLM home business

So what does this process look like?

  1. Set up your marketing system
  2. Generate massive traffic to build your list
  3. Covert traffic to MLM leads
  4. Convert your leads into sales for an “irresistable offer”
  5. Sign up the best of these into your MLM business

We’ll get more in depth on what each of these steps entail in the rest of this series. For now, I just want to point out something very specific about this process.

You absolutely must focus on each step until you master the one you are on or you will not have success in internet MLM. For example, once you have a fully branded & operational marketing system, you then work on generating massive traffic.

The one thing I would mention is that you should be building your list by using social media from the second you start your new MLM home business.

Offline or with internet MLM, the power is in your list. Your family & friends will run out quick, so build your list from the start by using social media to target qualified prospects.

Do not bombard them with a sales message right away. Just introduce yourself, & be friendly & thoughtful.

Start building a relationship first & everything else will follow naturally.

Next we will discuss setting up an effective marketing system in Part 2 – MLM Home Business – Massive Leverage From Effective Marketing Systems.

MLM Success – Intention & Preeminence

I wrote to you before about intention as a guiding factor in your journey as an entrepreneur here – MLM Mindset Training This is a concept I learned from Tim Sales in his “Brilliant Compensation” book.

This concept goes hand in hand with the concept of preeminence as taught by Jay Abraham. I want to discuss this further since we talked some of MLM Mindset yesterday, discussing the importance of getting your mind ready or “RDE”.

One of the most important concepts in mindset training is not to procrastinate if you want success or massive positive change in your life. One of my favorite books is named after this concept. It’s called “Eat That Frog” by Brian Tracy. The “eat that frog” concept is basically taking on your most unpleasant but very important task first thing in your daily process.

This creates a habit of meeting your most challenging tasks head on & quickly solving them. When I talked about the “get RDE” process I wasn’t meaning you should spend a lot of time getting ready to make a change.

Proper preparation is very important in most tasks, but when you are comtemplating creating massive change in your life & yourself most get stuck at the getting ready or consideration stage. When I talked of getting “RDE” here – MLM Mindset Training, I was referring to a process that should happen over a short period of time…like an hour, or a day, or ideally in a few minutes.

If you take much longer than that, rather than getting “RDE”, you are engaging in procrastination, not getting your mindset right. People who say, “Oh that sounds great, I’ll do it tomorrow,” probably will never do it. We’ve all been there. For example, it’s “I’ll stop smoking tomorrow, or next week,” or maybe, “I’m going to start getting in better shape next week.”

These thoughts are positive, but if we’re not taking action on them now, our mindset is not as it should be, we are not “RDE” or ready. The getting ready process is meant to eliminate procrastination, not encourage it.

Real briefly, the getting ready (or “RDE” as I name it) process is as follows:

  • Take Responsibility
  • DECIDE
  • Execute

(The second link above will take you there, if you need to get more in depth on that concept.)

These are the stages you need to go through in your mind first, before you undertake a process of dramatic transformation in your leadership training or other aspects of your life. These steps get your mind prepared to accept this period of massive change.

How does this relate to intention & preeminence?

Well, it’s simply this. Once you have your mindset right and you are starting your step-by-step process of dramatic change, your action steps, you need to come from the right place of intention. Now, if you’re changing something personal you may have positive & negative motivators like a spouse who is supportive or someone who said you’d never amount to anything.

This is not what I’m referring to when I talk of intention. For example, my intention or deepest core value in my business is to make the lives of others better.

If your intention does not align with your core values, it will usually be picked up on by your prospects in your body language and your voice. If your intention & what you are doing does not align with your core values, you will also sabotage yourself before you make it to the level of massive success.

If your core value is helping others your intention cannot be just to get into their wallet. Your prospect will pick up on it quickly, as will your subconscious.

If you want to have massive change in a short period of time & dramatic success, having the ability to achieve what you previously believed to be impossible…you need to get your mindset right quickly. You need to determine what your core value in your business endeavor & life is, and then always act from this intention.

It will come through in all that you do, and you will be more successful than you’ve ever dreamed.

This brings us to Jay Abraham’s concept of preeminence, which is very closely related.

We need to look at any business contacts, indeed even personal contacts as clients. Customer is a bad word & just changing your thought process to look at the person as a client will help tremendously.

You must look at the person as someone who is a trusted friend & confidant. You must only offer them what will benefit them the most & harm them the least.

In other words, if your product is not right for them & you have nothing that is, you must tell them so. If you have a product or service that a higher quantity, quality or frequency of purchase would be the best thing possible for your client, then it is your responsibility to make sure they get it.

If you market & sell from the right intention & core values, & if you treat your client as your most trusted friend when you sell to them, you can achieve MLM success & income beyond what most can imagine…

To your unbounded success & happiness,

~Scott

I’d like to speak with you about becoming a leader in your network marketing business, or any other business for that matter. There are many great books on this subject, but I’d like to drill into the basic process you need to go through, as a person, to get to a point where you are growing dramatically as a leader, every day.

Anyone who has experience with leadership development knows that it is not an overnight process. For most great leaders, even those born with natural talent, a lifetime is spent continuously improving their leadership skills.

Many of you involved with network marketing are observing as people come into your organization each day. You see people that are positive & friendly that seem to be having little to no success. You also see other people come in who are also positive and friendly.

But this second group of people comes into the organization & they start having immediate success. What is the key difference between these two groups of people?

Well the first group may be friendly & positive & they may be actively building a network. The difference is that they are not yet leaders. They are still beta people or pre-alpha’s in their leadership development.

It is absolutely essential that we nurture & guide these “pre-leaders” if we want them to have success & we want our team to have massive growth.

The leaders who are having great success already understand the importance of trust & building relationships. They may have spent a lifetime building their network.

The people who are in a beta state (no leadership mindset at all) & those who are in a pre-alpha state (beginning to create a leadership mindset) are still at various steps in the process of learning what they need to start developing as a leader.

You see, you don’t start to truly develop as a leader until you make some fundamental changes in your mindset. Now it is true that you should be engaging in building your network, or professional relationship building, from day one of your business.

But how do you do that if you are not a leader, yet?

In your business you need to make a minimum number of contacts that you engage in professional relationship building with, each & every day. Even if you are not yet a leader you need to be building your network. So, in the beginning, you need to make time for this every day, even if you have no influence in your network & you’re not making a single sign up or sale.

Your two basic actions that get results are recruiting team members & retailing product. To do these effectively you need one skill, professional relationship building. If you do not know how to do this yet, you start by networking with people of common interests every day.

You grow the skill of professional relationship building as you grow your business. Now, I don’t want you to get ahead of yourself. What I promised to do for you is tell you what you need to do personally to get to the mindset where you are ready to start dramatically transforming your leadership ability.

The goal here is to get you into a state of super-learning. How exactly do we do this?

Many of us don’t get our mindset right before we begin something, before we start the process of dramatic change.  It gets a little difficult, and we quit.

We need to go through the process I call “RDE” or ready. The process goes like this:

  • Take responsibility – We have to take responsibility for everything in our lives. Now I’m not talking about having an incurable disease or being born a certain race. Most of what we have & that we are, we create. To be a leader you must first reclaim the power in your life. Condemning, criticizing & complaining causes us to give our power to others. To be a leader, claim complete control by taking responsibility.
  • DECIDE – You must decide first that it’s okay, for you to be wealthy, or to change the world, or whatever is you want. You need to accept that you deserve this & that you are capable of achieving whatever it is. You also need to decide to do or be whatever it is you want, and decide to take whatever actions are necessary.
  • Execute – Lastly you must execute. You must commit to taking consistent, focused actions that move you in the direction of your desired goal(s). Once you have committed to this you need to execute, repeatedly.

These are the three steps in changing your mindset that will get you quickly to a point where you are ready to transform dramatically & quickly as a leader. If you do these first your training as a leader will move along at a clip that is exponentially faster.

The 4th step is actually the process of growing as a leader.

Since you need to be a leader to have any significant success in network marketing, it is imperative you take these mindset steps immediately at the outset of your new business endeavor.

Get RDE, take responsibility, decide & execute.

Then become the leader you were born to be…

To your success,

~Scott
